General
I-Chinese is an interactive and fun Chinese Language online learning platform that is strictly based on the Ministry of Education Singapore (MOE) Syllabus. With more that 17 years of experience teaching Chinese Language and a proven academic track record are reflected in I-Chinese's very own teaching materials that is presented in an easy, fun and interactive online sessions!
Led by Ms Bi Lan, who graduated with Masters of Arts in Chinese and Chinese Drama from Wuhan University. Inspired by her parents who are also professors who had dedicated their lives to teaching, Ms Bi Lan seeks to constantly hone her craft and make Chinese Learning fun and lively!
All her PSLE students in the year 2021 achieved an A Grade for Chinese. Her students had also achieved "Most Improved Student in Chinese Subject" and "Good Progress Award for Chinese Language" awards.
Our Teachers
We have a mix of teachers both locally and from distinguished universities in China, armed with years of teaching Chinese Language experience as well as the passion to nurture students and unlock their potential through systematic learning. Being bilingual serves as a bridge for both parents and students to easily understand the core subject matter, allowing students to retain more information. A close relationship with parents is fostered through personalised feedback and coaching on your child's progress.
Is I-Chinese's lessons relevant to the MOE Syllabus? How do you prep my child for exams?
Yes! We are as anxious as any parents will do. Through updated MOE syllabus models, we constantly upgrade our teaching methodologies and techniques to prep your child for the Chinese school exams, giving them the confidence and problem solving techniques to score well in their Chinese language examinations! Our Straight A's records are the best testimony!
How do our students get prepared for the school exams?
- 1 x Oral Training Monthly.
- 1 x Compostion Training Monthly.
- Comprehension Lessons are taught in a workshop manner.
- Blended Learning Models for problem solving techniques.
- A mock test a week before CA1, CA2, SA1, SA2.
- Teachers will revise with students how to analyse, identify and answer efficiently before the exam.
- Parents will be updated on their child'd progress, strengths and weaknesses and how to improve their performance.
What Programmes do you offer and how is your lessons conducted?
We specialise in Chinese Language from Primary 1 - 6, Secondary 1-2.
Our lessons are based on online blended learning where students can learn remotely at their home, interact with their peers through fun and engaging learning activities, receive instant feedback and coaching from their teacher.
Can my child attend the lesson anytime?
No. Our online lessons are fixed based on the schedule that your child chooses. This is to ensure consistency and having the same teacher throughout the entire term. You can choose the schedule prior to registration. Your child will be able to login in 10 minutes before the lesson starts.
Will my child get the same teacher and classmates during their lessons?
Yes. Based on their selection of the time schedule, the class will have the same teacher and classmates throughout. This will ensure maximum learning experience for the students and a thorough assessment of each child's strengths and weaknesses, allowing the teacher to coach them for optimum learning and academic results.
How big is your class?
Up to a max of 8. This is to ensure productivity and interactivity between the students and our experienced teachers.
Are there lessons on Public Holidays?
No. There will be no lessons on public holidays. I-Chinese will reschedule the lessons. If your child cannot attend, he/she can arramge a replacement class within the same period, subjected to availability. No refunds will be made if the student failed to attend. In the event if this happens, students can opt in to watch the recorded session.
Is there a replacement class?
Yes. Please email us ichineseacademy@gmail.com at least one week before the lesson. Students who missed the lesson can opt for a replacement class subjected to the following:
- no more than 3 replacement lessons per term.
- replacement classes may be conducted by another teacher.
- no refunds will be made if the student fails to turn up for the replacement lesson.
About Fees, Payments and Online Learning Platform
What if your lessons are already mid way through the term?
I-Chinese's Chinese Language programmes are based on 12 lessons by design. If your child joins during mid way though the term, the fee will be prorated.
How do I pay?
Our fees are billed on a term basis (three months). All fees are not transferable or refundable. A digital invoice will be sent to the parent. They can be paid via the link provided in the invoice or paynow at least 2 weeks before the start of the term. Do either email us [ichineseacademy@gmail.com] or whatsapp the payment record so we can keep track of the payment status.
Are there any hidden costs for the materials?
Worry not. These materials are already inclusive and will be mailed to you monthly. There will not be any charges on materials as well as delivery costs.
Are there any refunds?
No. There are no refunds, in the event that students are not able to arrange for a replacement class, they can watch the recorded lesson.
Online Learning Platform
What technical setup do I have to prepare?
- Stable internet access
- Desktop computer / Laptop with webcam or tablet
- A headset equipped with microphone
- Stationery and our signature lesson materials
- Instructions will be given on how to download the learning platform, and the login details. It is highly recommended to install the software prior to the first class or trial lesson. Parents would need to assist the child to understand how to log in and exit the lesson. For easier login, you can opt in "Remember password".
What if there are technical issues?
Fret not. Our teachers will help to assist on this matter first. If the issues still persists, our technical specialists will assist you.
Is the learning platform safe?
The platform is a registed licensed product used by organisations and universities. The instruction and user guides are provided on how to install upon confirmation of trial / first class.
